SUSTAINABILITY AND ENVIRONMENT
The mission of the MARIAFOLTA brand is sustainability and caring of our planet. We grow by being in opposition to fast fashion and trends which change every season. We create with respect for the environment, by using natural materials and by maintaining positive relationships with people, which is very important for us. Find out more about how we work.
Materials
Our clothes are made of high quality materials which can be worn for many years and also passed from generation to generation. We believe in classic and timeless clothes! Our collections are sewn of natural materials like silk, charmelaine wool from first shearing (virgin wool), eco bamboo (no pesticides are used in its production) or cupro made of cellulose. These materials don't contain plastic, they are breathable and can absorb moisture. The exception is triacetate - synthetic fabric which is a mix of polyamide and acetate but even this fabric is made of modified cellulose and as a result an extremely durable, pilling-resistant material is created and it will serve for many years without losing its condition.
Production
Our production is local - we work with Warsaw-based sewing workshops. We produce on a low scale and for individual orders to avoid overproduction and unwanted storage of clothes. Sometimes it takes a while to make your order ready, but we believe this business model makes sense for sustainability and for us as a small brand.
Relationships
Good relationships with people are very important to us. We work permanently with local subcontractors and seamstresses who are specialists in their field. These are relationships that have been maintained since the beginning of the brand. We guarantee fair salaries to all of our contributors.
Timelessness
MARIAFOLTA is a brand of classic forms and timeless collections which don’t change every season. Clothes that were made when we started are still available in the shop. We believe that simple, high quality and classic clothes are the best choice because of their timelessness and because they’re environmentally friendly. Less is more.
Packaging
We pack our products in paper tissues and cardboard bags and our promo materials are printed on high quality paper.
Caring for the clothes is caring for the planet
Longevity of the clothes requires more than only high quality fabrics. Storing and caring for them is also important. Wash your clothes (not only with MARIAFOLTA label) only when they really need it. Remember that sometimes airing your clothes is enough to restore freshness and get rid of impurities - this will not only make them last longer, but it will be better for the environment. If clothes need thorough cleaning, we recommend dry cleaning at eco-friendly laundries.
